Don Julio Tequila is produced in the Highlands of Jalisco, where the microclimate and mineral-rich clay soil allow the blue agave plant to flourish. Look out for the NOM number, their seal of authenticity, signifying where the tequila was made.
Don Julio Gonzalez started making his own Tequila in 1942 when he was only seventeen years old. Within five years he opened his own distillery, naming it “”Primavera”” (meaning “”Springtime””). He spent the next forty years refining his process and improving the quality of his brands. Seagrams came along and invested in 1990s, and Diageo acquired the entire operation in 2014. Today, they make their namesake Don Julio brand of fine Jalisco Tequilas and several other Spirits brands in the Diageo portfolio. Long a favorite of bartenders in exclusive clubs and gourmet restaurants, Don Julio’s 1492 Añejo Tequila 100% blue agave Spirits has earned a solid reputation as a Tequila-lovers Tequila.
The 818 brand was founded by model Kendall Jenner, and named after her 818 postcode in Los Angeles, California. Kendall Jenner is known for expressing a huge passion for the agave spirit, and says her award-winning 818 Tequila Blanco is ‘simply perfect’. With its light-bodied, sweet and smooth-with-a-crisp finish, 818 Tequila Blanco is perfect for cocktails. The crispy taste will make you want to drink more.
Using 100% Weber blue agave, picked at their peak – anywhere from 8-12 years old – Anejo is aged in French Oak barrels for a minimum of 14 months. Its finish is described as spicy and well-rounded with flavours of toasted oak, vanilla and butterscotch.
