This is a softer, more sophisticated version of the popular Old Monk 7 Year Old rum from India. This was distilled from molasses and aged for a minimum of 12 years in oak barrels. This rum is made from Jaggery, a traditional sort of sugar produced in India from dates, cane juice or palm sugar. On the nose this rum is rich with fresh, slightly grassy cane notes, with a deep woodspice aroma and tropical fruit, particularly pineapple and overripe banana.
