A gorgeous limited edition single malt Scotch whisky with a Japanese twist from the giants of Glenfiddich here. Grand Yozakura 29-Year-Old is finished in Japanese awamori casks!
Awamori is a spirit produced in Okinawa from long-grain indica rice, which, like sake, is initially seeded with koji and fermented with yeasts that have been isolated from all sorts of funky locations, including mangoes, hibiscus, and sakura blossoms. It leads to some amazingly diverse flavour notes, ranging from floral and fruity, to rich and savoury, all of which have been imparted into this remarkable dram.
The bottle is housed in a smart case, adorned with sakura blossom, comes with a bespoke engraved stopper, and is topped with a cloth that carries a poem, all coming together to perfectly capture the moment.

A surge of ripe fruits and caramelised almonds fill the nose, before indulgent layers of toasted oak and creamy vanilla mingle with spice and sherbet, rippling on the tongue before a final crescendo of oak on the finish.

Penderyn’s Celt single malt, in a fancy newly designed bottle. This expression from the Welsh distillery is treated to a finish in casks that previously held peated whisky, imparting elegant wisps of smoky peat alongside the creamy vanilla and biscuity barley at its core.
Balvenie DoubleWood is, to not much surprise, aged in two kinds of oak casks! It was firstly matured in refill American oak casks before it was treated to a finish in first fill European oak Oloroso sherry butts for an additional nine months. The expression was launched in 1993, and has become a somewhat iconic whisky over the years. Even at 12 years old, this rich and complex dram is an excellent example of what the Balvenie distillery can craft.
The Glen Grant 18 Year Old is rich and complex with notes of caramel, raisins and vanilla. It’s a great whisky for fans of big Speyside whiskies with layers and layers of sweet flavours.
A cut above the standard-issue 12yo, Glenlivet 15yo is finished, as the name suggests, in Limousin French Oak (the same kind that is used for many Cognacs). Expect rich notes of fruit, almonds and sweet spice.
Speyside whiskies are known to be fruity and floral, but as the bad boy of Speyside, Craigellachie defies with its oil fired, rich character. Craigellachie 17 Year Old is matured in a mixture of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The bourbon casks bring vanilla, toffee and fudge notes to the fore, and the sherry casks provide richness and complexity.
Aberlour is already one of our favourite distilleries thanks to the excellent a’bunadh. Introduced in 2008, this 18 year old is now one of the stars of the range: rich and fruity, with a great textured mouthfeel.
Glenlivet is one of those distilleries whose malts just keep improving with age. This superb 21yo is an elegant, intricate, sophisticated malt, presented in a very smart wooden box – just don’t drop it on your foot.
